It reported that the era of low-cost Asian production is threatened by rising wages in Asia. The surge in young people who are reluctant to work in factories is cited as a major factor in the surge in wages. The WSJ reported that young Asian people feel that their working conditions are poor compared to their wages and are avoiding listening to their bosses’ instructions. For this reason, more and more young people are moving to the service industry or self-employed even if their income decreases. In the case of Vietnam, he worked as a mechanic at an automobile factory earlier this year and moved to a car-sharing company. “I get paid less hourly than when I work at a factory, but now I don’t work for my boss, so my stress has been reduced,” he said. An entrepreneur who runs a clothing factory in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, said, “All young people want to work in coffee shops or become Instagrammers, photographers, and stylists.” Wages continue to rise as it becomes more difficult to find manpower than before. According to the United Nations, the average wage of Vietnamese manufacturers more than doubled last year compared to 2011. China’s factory wages also jumped 122% for the first time in 10 years. China’s youth unemployment rate reached 21% in June this year as more and more young people do not want to work in factories even though there is a shortage of factory workers in China. Rising wages naturally lead to an increase in manufacturing costs. As a result, multinational companies with factories in Asia are reflecting wage increases in commodity prices. According to the WSJ, Mattel, a Barbie doll maker, raised product prices due to rising labor costs at factories in China and Indonesia. Nike, which has a large plant in Asia, also raised product prices in June, citing rising labor costs. As it becomes difficult to find young workers, companies are turning to middle-aged people. In 2001, Nike’s average age for Asian workers was 22. However, the average age of Chinese workers is 40 years old, and the average age of Vietnamese workers has risen to 31. “The reluctance of Asian young people to work in factories is a wake-up call for Western companies that rely on cheap labor,” he said. “Americans who have become accustomed to cheap Asian clothing and TVs will have to pay higher prices in the future.”

new study found that a protein-rich, low-calorie diet “prevents bone density and muscle mass loss” could help obese seniors lose weight while maintaining muscle mass and increasing bone density.Losing weight by an older person creates several problems. Loss of bone density and muscle mass can cause mobility problems and increase the risk of injury.Researchers at Wake Forest University in the U.S. argued that high-protein and low-calorie diets help older people avoid these problems. The researchers randomly selected 96 adults aged 65 or older and assigned them to one of the two groups. The researchers assigned Group 1 to a six-month low-calorie meal with more than 1g of protein per kg of weight, and Group 2 to a meal containing 0.8g of protein per kg of weight. As a result, Group 1 maintained muscle mass, although it lost the most weight. In addition, the weight of the abdomen, hips, thighs, and hips, which can reduce risks such as diabetes and stroke, has been reduced.

It also improved bone quality and scored 0.75 points, an excellent grade in the health aging index score.Older people’s muscle mass can naturally decrease, and although they don’t burn calories at the same rate as they did in their youth, nutritious food is essential.Beneficial foods include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, seafood, poultry, eggs, and low-fat dairy products. The researchers said, “A high-protein and low-calorie diet can give health benefits to the elderly when they lose weight and allow them to maintain the muscles and bones they need to improve their quality of life.” If so, can you take the necessary nutrients if you eat a variety of foods? Let me introduce Gaon & Co., Ltd.’s Lavalance, which connects you with a simpler texture and taste. High protein is extracted from soybeans as a snack type. This technology is patent-registered and not only consists of various products in stacks, cookies, and cereal types, but it also always adds the texture and taste that protein products lack. There are natural fruit, vegetable, and spicy flavors, and experts participate in the balance of nutrients to create the best combination of products.

Google, OpenAI, and Microsoft have been blocking access to AI chatbot services in Hong Kong in recent months.
In the case of Open AI, which operates Chat GPT, Hong Kong and mainland China were placed on the list of “restricted countries” alongside North Korea, Syria, and Iran.
These companies refused to answer why they blocked the use of chatbots in Hong Kong. However, the WSJ explained that this change is not irrelevant to the situation in which U.S. tech companies have become more inclined to treat Hong Kong as one of China’s cities, not as a global financial and business hub.Hong Kong’s Internet environment is not the same as before. Apple is reportedly filtering out “suspicious” websites with China’s Tencent in Hong Kong. Internet users protested that social media (SNS) mastodon, which has emerged as a rival to Twitter, and even legal sites have been blocked, but “filtering” is still ongoing. Websites that Tencent blocked from accessing in Hong Kong also included U.S. cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and coding community GitHub.

Disney removed two episodes of the animated “The Simpsons” from Hong Kong’s online video service (OTT) that mentioned forced labor camps in China and the 1989 Tiananmen pro-democracy protests. According to an official familiar with the matter, the move is due to concerns over the violation of the Hong Kong National Security Law enacted in 2020.Attention is also being paid to the results of the Hong Kong court’s request for a ban on singing “Glory to Hong Kong” scheduled for the 12th.
The request to virtually ban “Glory to Hong Kong,” which anti-government protesters like to sing, also included blocking 32 related YouTube videos. It is the first time that a U.S. tech company has been involved in Songsa in earnest over politically sensitive content in Hong Kong.George Chen, who served as the head of the Chinese rental at Facebook’s parent company Meta, predicted that if the Hong Kong court accepts the blocking request, the authorities’ legal action against U.S. tech companies could be “bottled up.”Some point out that Hong Kong’s Internet environment has become closer to mainland China, where the Internet censorship system “Tanli Firewall” is located
Some Hong Kong residents are bypassing the virtual private network (VPN) as in mainland China as AI chatbots are blocked. Even a Hong Kong government spokesman emphasizes that it is still possible to use chatbots as alternative means such as VPN, saying that he respects Google’s “restricting access to Hong Kong.”The outflow of IT personnel is also continuing. Hong Kong, with a population of 7.5 million, is not a major market for U.S. tech companies in itself, but due to its unique free information distribution environment, companies and IT workers have chosen Hong Kong as their home base. However, over the past three years, tens of thousands of IT personnel have left Hong Kong, and one of the reasons is the contraction of freedom of expression.According to a survey released in March this year by the Hong Kong American Chamber of Commerce, only 38% of the respondents said they would have free access to the Internet and information platforms in Hong Kong over the next three years.Microsoft is also reportedly planning to move AI experts from Beijing to North America, not Hong Kong. Microsoft Research Asia (MSRA), which has also been called a “star training center” for producing a number of talented people leading the Chinese IT industry, will exclude key AI experts from China.China’s state-run Global Times commented on a report by the British Financial Times (FT) that Microsoft has begun the process of transferring high-quality AI personnel to Vancouver, Canada, saying, “It is a pure exaggeration that a research institute ‘threatens’ China’s talent development.”

Junhwan Oh (KIS 8)
Archaeology reveals the secrets of past civilizations through the analysis of material evidence. In the Summer of 2022, an excavation was carried out by high school students of ‘The Mansion House’, a house which stood on a school campus from 1782 until 1887 in Massachusetts, USA. The following is an analysis of the excavation and what it means for the intersection of archeology and history.
The excavation of The Mansion House focused on the material aspect of past human culture. However, when combined with the history of the area, our study tells us something profound and meaningful about the past. It is surprising how much information has been left out of the mainstream history narrative, like the histories of the Native American and African American groups that lived in this region of the United States. While governmental and economic infrastructure was generally created by white groups in the USA, black communities created the fabric of their own civilization using their traditional know-how and skills. So, leaving the African American groups out of history is not only misguided, but arrogant and wrong. The excavation aimed to find evidence of not only the major events and groups of people from this time period, but also the life of the people that have been omitted from the historical record. Artifacts that were excavated from the site are a fragment of history and can be further analyzed and connected to other artifacts; collectively, they tell a story about who occupied the land and how they lived. Archaeology not only provides valuable insights for modern historians and scientists but also grants nameless individuals from the past the respect and honor they deserve.
During the time that The Mansion House stood, Black workers were dehumanized and ostracized by white people due to the racist structure of society at the time. During the archaeology camp in Massachusetts in the Summer of 2022, students were able to use both history and archeology to study the past, and their learning came into focus through the study of ethics in archaeology. By learning about ethics, which is at the heart of archaeology, they were able to begin to understand that scientific methodology can often be destructive or limited if not paired with ethical considerations. Combining history with archaeology is beneficial for both historians and archaeologists because background information about the site is invaluable to archeologists, and historians use the results of excavations as tangible evidence of their historical hypotheses. Archaeology is also useful for contemporary historians and scientists, as it provides concrete evidence for the use of certain objects and materials that can help us understand what the world was like in the past.
Modern civilization is greatly affected by the traditions and practices of the past. Although human culture has changed exponentially over the last century with explosions in technology and global communications, it remains important to preserve the knowledge of our ancestors. Just like how ancient African influence can be seen in ceramics from Georgia, recording and developing past practices is important for the future.
Archaeology is for everyone, as it tells the story of all humans throughout time. Modern archeological methods are far removed from those of the early antiquarians, many of whom were concerned with profit and fame, and the archeological records suffered because of it. Now, archeology aims to gather material evidence and analyze it with ethical considerations in mind, working with local people to explore our shared past. It is only through considering the intersection of archeology with history that we will be able to fully illuminate the past and more fully understand our present world.

Time does not exist

Kyumin Kang (NLCS Jeju 11)
There are two ways to view time: one is as an empirical phenomenon and the other, as a mathematical concept used to describe the world. Galileo Galilei described time as distance divided by velocity and compared various values of the time taken for an object to travel a certain distance. Newtonian mechanics defined time as an absolute value throughout the universe even though Newton was aware of the conceptual problem that absolute time could not be measured. However, from the end of the 19th century, new perspectives on time emerged, and one of the theories that helped to shift the paradigm was the theory of relativity by Albert Einstein. He claimed that time is not absolute but relative. There are two types of this theory: special relativity, which claims that in the reference frame of a moving object, time appears to pass more slowly, and general relativity which claims that a gravitational field slows the flow of time. This theory created lots of paradoxes at first, one of the most famous being the ‘twin paradox’.
One twin (twin A) goes to space in a spaceship, and the other twin (twin B) stays on Earth. The spacecraft travels at a speed close to the speed of light. Each twin experiences time as normal in their own reference frames, but their reference frames are no longer the same. When viewed from Earth’s reference, a clock on A’s spaceship will appear to run slowly. By the time A returns to Earth, years later, less time has passed on the spaceship due to time dilation, and twin A should be younger than twin A. But viewed from the spaceship’s reference frame, Earth appears to move away very quickly, so a clock on Earth appears to move slower from the spaceship. Therefore, B should be younger than A! Both cannot be true, and this is where the paradox arises. The solution lies in the fact that the spaceship is accelerating, therefore it can’t be considered an inertial reference from which we can calculate time dilations. Therefore, A really does return to Earth younger than B.
The most interesting interpretation of this theory is that the concept of what we call ‘time’ does not actually exist. Einstein postulated that time is a dimension just like space. For example, let’s assume that there’s a graph in which the horizontal axis represents a spatial dimension, and the vertical axis represents a time dimension. If I decide to take an airplane from Korea to the UK, then my movement will be drawn as a diagonal line on the graph since I have moved in both space and time. Einstein then made a prediction that matter all moves through spacetime at the speed of light. This means that in the space-time graph, the resultant vector is always a constant length. When we increase our speed, for example by flying in a plane, increasing our rate of travel through spacetime, it is just that we move more slowly through the time dimension. In this regard, since all matter is traveling at the speed of light through spacetime, nothing can move faster than light through space. It truly is a cosmic speed limit.
If we accept this idea, then it is impossible to define the concepts of what we call the past, present, and future. If we could control our motion through time in the same way as we can through space, we would be able to see things from the past and the future, rather than being stuck in the present like a bug frozen in amber, being dragged every forward by the arrow of time. The point of this is that if we portray the universe’s journey from the Big-Bang to its eventual end (if there is one) as one single block, or rolling movie, then at every moment we are only looking at one scene or slice of it. But all matter moves at the speed of light in spacetime, thus when the relative speed in spatial directions is zero, then we are moving forwards in time at the speed of light (in reality this rarely happens, as we on Earth are constantly moving around the Sun and through the galaxy). Consequently, the position of the scene we can see in the story of the universe containing the past, present, and future constantly changes, and this is why we say that time “flows”. All past, present, and future events are actually just a single picture expressed in 4 dimensions, and the speed of light moving us through the picture is unchanging. To put it simply, every event that we have been through in the past or we will encounter in the future is part of the universe’s story which has already been decided, and we are just walking the path of destiny at the speed of light.

Rhetorical Analysis of Barack Obama’s Eulogy Memorializing Senator Ted Kennedy

Minseung Choi (St. Paul 11)
At Senator Ted Kennedy’s funeral in 2009, former President Barack Obama delivered a eulogy to praise and memorialize the late senator. His speech was marked with great use of pathos, especially appropriate given the setting, as he introduced Kennedy through an empathy-evoking anecdote. Furthermore, Obama juxtaposed Kennedy’s response to his tragic past with the societally expected response and implicitly compared Kennedy to modern politicians, praising Kennedy’s sincerity in his often-cynical field of politics. The powerful combination of pathos, juxtaposition, and comparison highlights Kennedy’s extraordinariness and successfully establishes him as a praiseworthy figure.
Obama first leads the speech with an anecdote about Kennedy. While Obama could have started by detailing his deeds as a senator, he deliberately introduces Kennedy by describing his more personal side to further emphasize and better memorialize Kennedy’s primary role as a beloved human being. He mentions how Kennedy was not only a great senator but also a “Father. Brother. Husband. Uncle Teddy” and even “The Big Cheese”. This is both considerate to the people who knew Kennedy more personally – “those of us who loved him” – and touching to others who knew him as a senator, allowing the audience to remember Kennedy not only as a respected and professional senator but also as an admirable member of a family. Overall, Obama’s anecdotal introduction of Kennedy serves as a great setup for the speech, as its emotional tone crescendos with the discussion of Kennedy’s more personal side.
Obama further details Kennedy’s tragic past to highlight Kennedy’s extraordinary strength in overcoming personal challenges. He explains how Kennedy suffered through extreme events such as losing beloved family members and narrowly surviving a plane crash. Despite these hardships that “would have broken a lesser man,” Obama notes that Kennedy still had a “spirit of resilience and good humor”. Kennedy’s extraordinary response to his suffering is contrasted with the ordinary, expected response to such hardships of “a lesser man” to “let himself become bitter and hardened” and “to surrender to self-pity and regret”. With this juxtaposition, Obama separates Kennedy from the ordinary, “lesser man” and highlights his extraordinariness, achieving his goal of praising Kennedy. The knowledge of Kennedy’s tragic past and his extraordinary response to it therefore evokes a sense of admiration among the audience, setting a respectful tone appropriate for a eulogy.
Obama adds more power to his words by comparing Kennedy to modern politicians to emphasize Kennedy’s sincerity as a politician who helped those in need. Using the words of the famous poet William Wordsworth, Obama smoothly transitions from Kennedy’s personal life to his political side, by explaining how his past, personal exposure “to suffering and distress” translated into Kennedy being “more alive to tenderness” in politics. Obama indicates that Kennedy’s great achievements as a politician were due to his empathy towards “the plight and suffering of others” and “not to champion those with wealth or power or special connections”. Obama is essentially hinting towards and criticizing modern politics, which focuses more on individual gain rather than a sincere desire to help citizens. The clarification of Kennedy’s intentions separates him from modern politicians, establishing him as a more praiseworthy figure.
Obama praises both Kennedy’s personal side and political side, using pathos, juxtaposition, and comparison to emphasize Kennedy’s greatness. He introduces Kennedy the man first, highlighting his resilience and noting that Kennedy’s past helped him become a great politician. When mentioning Kennedy’s political side, Obama does not simply list Kennedy’s great achievements but also praises them, focusing on his sincere intentions and how he helped those truly in need, making him different from modern politicians. Through the use of such rhetorical techniques, Obama highlights Kennedy’s remarkable traits and memorializes him.

Featuring the Literature Essay for- Kindred, by Octivia E. Butler “ During human history, many countries made use of slavery. In historical times, slavery was ubiquitous around the world. Slaves were people who worked for their masters, but the specific systems of slavery were very different. In some cases, people were forced to become slaves because they were captured or punished. In other systems, people actually sold themselves into slavery to pay debts or because they couldn’t afford to live.” In this essay, I will compare Roman and Aztec slavery. To begin with, there are differences in how the Romans and Aztecs obtained and used their slaves. When Romans captured enemy soldiers in war, they used them as slaves to build or farm. Roman slaves were also bought by their masters. The Aztecs also got slaves by capturing soldiers from war, but people could also voluntarily become slaves by selling themselves or selling their children. The slaves in the Aztec Empire were used for farming, building, breaking materials to build things, and mining resources. In summary, the Romans and Aztecs both captured soldiers in war, but they made them do different jobs and work.
Furthermore, the Romans and Aztecs treated their slaves differently. The Romans treated some of their slaves badly and some of them well. Some Romans thought they should treat slaves well, so that they would be motivated to do more work than slaves who were treated awfully. Likewise, the Aztecs generally treated their slaves well, but sometimes they sacrificed their slaves to their gods. They mostly sacrificed enemy soldiers and criminal slaves. However, the Romans mostly did not sacrifice their slaves to the gods. The Aztecs had laws that said that a master must give their slaves food, shelter, and medical treatment. When Aztec slaves gave birth to children, the master should also take care of the children and give them food and shelter. In addition, Aztec slaves could buy their own slaves. This meant that the slaves who were also masters could force their slaves to do their work which their original master gave. These slaves could therefore rest and live comfortably without any work. Their master would care for them, so they lived comfortable lives. Additionally, Roman and Aztec slaves were freed differently. Roman slaves were rarely freed. They were usually slaves for the rest of their lives. On the other hand, Aztec slaves could actually buy themselves freedom by saving up money. However, many actually chose not to buy their freedom because their masters treated them well. Aztec slaves could marry and the master would take care of any babies that they gave birth to, so some Aztec slaves decided that they were better off being slaves than being freed. Finally, slavery in the Aztec and Roman Empires ended very similarly. The Romans’ slavery system ended in 476 AD. Despite slave rebellions by people like Spartacus, as well as the rise of Christianity, slavery didn’t stop until the Roman empire began to fall and collapse. Likewise, Aztec slavery ended when the Spanish conquistador, Hernán Cortés, invaded the Aztec Empire in 1521. Both empires ended slavery due to someone invading them or causing their society to collapse. In conclusion, the Romans and Aztecs had similarities and differences in their systems of slavery. For example, the Romans and Aztecs both ended slavery when they collapsed; however, there were differences in how slaves were obtained, treated, used, and freed.

Rich nations should pay for poorer nations’ decarbonisation

Featuring the Literature Essay for- The Drowned World, by J.G. Ballard
Recently, climate change has become a hot topic and decarbonisation has naturally become another interest. As countries develop, they typically produce more carbon dioxide (CO2). However, after a particular amount of development, the production of CO2 usually decreases. However, developing countries do not stop producing carbon dioxide and thus keep contributing to climate change. They do not have money to stop burning fossil fuels to produce energy, which means outside groups have to come up with money to help developing countries to reduce their emissions. Despite this, some people argue that rich countries should not pay poor countries to decarbonize, because the private sector can fund decarbonisation infrastructure, and it is not rich countries’ responsibility. However, in my opinion, rich countries should pay poor countries to help them decarbonise because it is the only viable option, there are mutual benefits to reducing CO2, and it is the fairest solution. Firstly, rich countries paying for poor countries is the only way to make decarbonization successful. Grandiose plans such as making a giant vacuum cleaner to suction in CO2 are infeasible; what developing countries need in order to decarbonise is money to produce renewable energy, such as building solar panels and wind power generators. If rich countries donate money to poor countries, they will have multiple options for decarbonisation. For example, there is a project called Just Energy Transition (JET), which is operated by Eskom in South Africa. This project aims to achieve “Net Zero” carbon emissions by 2050, with an increase in sustainable jobs. This project was introduced at COP26 in Glasgow in November 2021, and France, Germany, Great Britain, the United States, and the European Union decided to provide $8.5 billion in funding to Eskom. Those countries chose to provide financial support on a scale that simply cannot be matched by other non-governmental entities. Therefore, providing financial support for poor countries is the only way that decarbonisation will be successful. Moreover, I believe rich countries should help poor countries to decarbonise by paying them because there are mutual benefits. Paying for poor countries to reduce CO2 is not merely an act of kindness to that country. Instead, it is an act of kindness and generosity to every single country around the world, and it also benefits the country that is paying. Carbon dioxide moves around the world very rapidly, carried by atmospheric circulation, and the impacts of climate change affect multiple countries. However, if poorer countries stop releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, rich countries will also benefit because those emissions will no longer influence them. According to research by Wei Cheng, the average atmospheric CO2 concentration in the United States is around 394-395 ppm, Europe is around 394 ppm, and Eastern Asia is around 393-394 ppm. This demonstrates how CO2 diffuses around the world evenly; if developing countries emit CO2, it will spread and go to the developed countries. Therefore, it is in developed countries’ interests to fund decarbonisation projects in developing countries, because it will help to reduce global CO2 levels. Based on these examples, it seems clear that rich countries should pay poor countries because decarbonisation benefits multiple countries. Lastly, developed countries should pay developing countries to decarbonise due to the fact that it is the fairest way. Rich countries have also been through the same process of development and they produced a lot of CO2 during that time. They know that they have contributed to climate change and they know they can make a positive change now. If they really want to make a difference, they can give a hand to poorer countries and help them to avoid making the same mistakes or disasters they already experienced. For example, during the industrial revolution, trillions of tons of carbon dioxide were released. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the CO2 level prior to the industrial revolution was about 280 parts per million (ppm). However, since the start of the industrial revolution, humans have produced 1.5 trillion tons of CO2. This has caused atmospheric CO2 levels to rise to 420.99 ppm, primarily due to developed nations. As they produced this much carbon dioxide, it seems fair that they should help to stop other countries from producing carbon dioxide by supporting them with financial aid. Therefore, rich countries should pay poor countries because they experienced the same thing. In conclusion, I believe rich countries should pay poor countries to decarbonise because it is the only way to be successful, there are mutual benefits, and it is the fairest way to solve the problem. If we really want to save the earth and return to pre-industrial CO2 levels, we have to stop releasing carbon dioxide into the air. Part of that solution requires developing countries to decarbonise, and this can be achieved through cooperation between many countries, and by providing financial support for them. This issue is not something that a single country can solve; it is the entire world’s issue, and should be solved by cooperation, led by the wealthier nations.

Lessons from Covid-19 that can be applied to future public health crises

“ It is the government’s role to ensure its people’s freedom and safety at the same time. Sometimes, in order to ensure safety, the government needs to set certain protocols and mandate them, especially during public health crises such as Covid-19. Unfortunately, controversies arise if such protocols are against the wishes of the people. In order to prepare for future public health crises, the government needs to distinguish between public opinion and misinformation, be open to new possibilities towards daily protocols and control movements by utilizing pseudo-mandate in regards to statistics. ” First, the government needs to find a way to protect its citizens from misinformation without oppressing their freedom of speech. The government is responsible for the safety of its people, thus it cannot leave its citizens alone if some of them are engaged in spreading misinformation on purpose. During Covid, misinformation caused the deaths of a number of people. Such deaths can occur in a variety of ways, but deaths from misinformation mainly occur when people attempt untrustworthy treatments for diseases or refuse to receive proper medications. In fact, according to Alistair Coleman from BBC News, at least 800 people worldwide died new to misinformation. Therefore, societies need a boundary to define what is misinformation. One way to distinguish this is to consider if it is objectively a conspiracy or just a controversial topic. For example, some people who oppose vaccines base their opposition on the belief that individuals such as Bill Gates are implanting microchips inside the doses (European Union). However, in other cases, people are seriously concerned with possible side effects that statistics suggest do exist. Thus, it would be an unjust measure for the government to simply suppress all public opinions against its current vaccine policies. On the other hand, the government would have to be aware of obvious conspiracies, such as some people insisting that consuming inedible substances would actually cure Covid. One measure that governments can implement is having health officials decide whether or not mainstream opinions are genuine concerns. However, the health officials can still leave the government to make the final call on restricting such opinions, in order to create a balance of power. As a result, complications with freedom of speech would have to be referred to facts instead of values, in order to protect the citizens and respect their freedoms at the same time. Second, the government would have to properly establish daily protocols. In the case of clothing, people would require guidelines in order to keep themselves safe from viruses. However, if absolute science evidence is lacking, the government should not completely mandate such guidelines, for they may constantly change each time scientists discover new information. In the case of medical procedures, the government should generally mandate protocols that do not seriously interfere with the citizens. For example, according to Christine Zink from Very Well Health, Covid testing is a measure that is proven to be accurate and reliable (Zink). Therefore, people do not normally have significant repulsion towards policies regarding Covid testing. However, certain policies are not completely backed up with science or are highly controversial, such as early vaccines that were capable of causing deaths due to side effects (Center for Disease Control and Prevention). In such cases, the government should not mandate these policies without sufficient consideration as there is always a possibility that it may be flawed. The government should not risk its own people for faster outcomes. As an alternative, pseudo-mandates, or socially influencing people’s decisions without actually enforcing sweeping protocols, may be an effective way to influence a large number of people into following certain necessary policies. Although it may not necessarily affect the decisions, the government should always consider public opinion when choosing whether or not to mandate certain protocols that could be controversial. This way, the government may find more effective ways to persuade its citizens or discover mainstream opinions that could concern its citizens, which would all lead to better decisions towards the well-being of the people. The reason is that people would realize that complying with the policy would be better for them in order to avoid disadvantages. For example, not allowing more than two non-vaccinated people to meet would be a reasonable and protective measure when it comes to pressuring people to get vaccinated. This would not violate their basic rights in the same way as mandating vaccinations, but would instead offer convenient alternatives instead of continuing to refrain from complying to governmental guidelines. Overall, flexibly adjusting policies but firmly establishing essential ones would be a crucial factor in guiding people’s daily lives without excessively curtailing their freedoms. Lastly, the government would have to consider various factors when it comes to controlling the movements of its citizens. In the case of Covid, according to Beth Blauer and Joshua E. Porterfield from Johns Hopkins University, having sick people stay in Covid-only hospitals may be an example of such a controversial mandate, due to the reasons that hospitals lack supplies and data may be lost when the admission dates leave a margin from dates that one receives Covid testing results. Further, governments would also need to consider statistics from other countries that historically mandated or did not mandate certain policies. In the case of lockdowns, a government could look for its own past records or records of other countries with similar backgrounds and their health-related statuses. This may help the government to make decisions based on past successes and failures of other countries with similar circumstances, which may be a crucial guideline for the country’s own safety. On the other hand, governments should mandate safety protocols if they are approved by health departments, for they are objective areas of truth regardless of politics or values. An example of this is house quarantines for Covid patients. Again, pseudo-mandates would be an effective measure for such cases. For example, having students stay at home if they are sick is crucial to ensure safety in school environments (Mayo Clinic). In this case, recommending virtual schools instead of forcing families to quarantine would be an efficient pseudo-mandate. Such measures would be capable of influencing people to comply with governmental guidelines without exposing them to health-related risks or leaving them unsatisfied. In conclusion, governments should objectively deal with misinformation, flexibly implement daily protocols and consider various aspects when it comes to restricting movements. Tradeoffs always exist when it comes to implementing a certain policy and it is impossible for a government to satisfy every single person in its country. However, that is what makes it possible for countries to aim for better outcomes and be open to new discoveries and opinions for decision-making. Health crises always repeat themselves in history in different forms, but humanity has always protected its generations and its descendants from them. Even if Covid is settled, our descendants will also have to face future health crises with developed threats but with knowledge of how we responded to Covid. Therefore, clashes regarding governmental limits to interfere with its citizens would be an on-going matter. Despite that, the necessity of a government to distinguish misinformation, implement correct protocols and mandate accurate measures would always be the same for mankind, both in the present and in the future.

According to the 9th edition of IDF DIABETES ATLAS, a biennial diabetes white paper released by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) in 2019, 463 million people (9.3%) aged 20 to 79 were diabetic (data based in 138 countries, including more than 93% of the world’s population). This is an increase of 39 million compared to 425 million reported in 2017. In addition, as of 2019, there were 136 million diabetic patients aged 65 or older, and one in five elderly people suffered from diabetes. It is noteworthy that the prevalence of diabetes is increasing rapidly every year. In light of the current trend, the number of diabetes patients worldwide will be 578 million (10.2%) in 2030, and it is expected to reach 700 million (10.9%) in 2045, up 51% from 2019. At the same time, the number of diabetes-related deaths was 4.2 million, accounting for 11.3% of the total deaths. Depending on gender, 2.3 million women and 1.9 million men were surveyed. Among the deaths related to diabetes, 46.2% of adults under the age of 60 who are capable of economic activities were found.

For diabetes, it is very important to manage diabetes and control blood sugar through exercise or diet. However, before this, the first thing to precede is to frequently measure the blood sugar level to recognize the blood sugar level. However, it is a well-known fact that pain and even psychological pain are a problem because blood is collected with a needle when measuring blood sugar.

Many laser blood collectors were released around 1992 with the idea that when blood was collected for blood sugar measurement, it could be done with a laser rather than a needle. However, the public has a negative image, such as that blood collection using this laser blood collector does not stop bleeding well, causes pain, and side effects such as burning sensation, pain, burns, and inflammation. These pain and side effects from laser blood collection can be quite dangerous. The use of lasers is focused on the development of most of the maximum output and maximum efficiency in various industries. Therefore, in order to use it harmless to the human body, it is very important to find a method that produces low output and has no pain as much as possible.

How nice would it be to have a product that has a laser blood collector that is harmless and safe to the human body integrated with a blood glucose meter? Of course, even the glycemic strip would be better if it was cheap.

Such a product has been developed by a Korean company. This product is undergoing medical certification (FDA 510K Class 2 + KFDA) and is undergoing clinical trials at a university hospital in Korea certified by the FDA.

Lee Young-Woo, CEO of MVITRO Co., Ltd., earned a Ph.D. in electrical engineering (laser and optics) from Keio University in Japan and studied the interaction of human organisms and light in the biophysical chemistry division at the Max-Planck Institute in Germany and the Rutherford Laboratory in the UK. (The laser can act as toxic when it is used in living things, which he researched.) Currently serving as a professor at Mokwon University in Korea, he is a true expert who has studied laser only for the past 40 years.

He has been researching for five years since 2017 just for the laser generator of this product. As such, it is difficult to develop a laser generator for safe blood collection on the skin.

The laser generator uses YAG (Yttrium-Aluminum-Garnet) synthetic crystal doped with Erbium (Er) as a medium. Most of the existing Erbium YAGs are 5 cm tall, and he made them 3 cm. Light in the mid-infrared region, with a wavelength of 2,940 nm, was transmitted through a special lens in a multifocal manner, so that a hole was drilled just below the epidermis of the skin to collect blood. This is to increase accuracy and reduce measurement deviation by allowing various components such as blood plasma in the skin to flow together.

When individual patients measure blood sugar with this product by completing the AI platform, he plans to feedback the data to the AI server in real time and use this DB as big data. It can be used as a diagnostic assistant for doctors by predicting the adaptability of drugs prescribed to diabetic patients, whether it is good to divide prescription drugs in the morning and evening, or whether it is better to take them only in the morning. He plans to commercialize the AI platform.

In addition, high blood sugar raises potassium in the kidneys due to stress, which leads to poor kidney function, and he has developed an accessory device that reads Bio Signal when kidney function decreases to prevent kidney function in advance.

There is definitely a reason to be interested in MVITRO Co., Ltd.’s products, which will help diabetics around the world measure and manage blood sugar levels safely and conveniently without psychological pain from blood collection pain.

It is a new country with 41 years of independence, and various conditions such as accommodation and transportation are insufficient. For this reason, it is expected that more soccer fans will visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and even Iran, where anti-government protests are severe. The most expensive World Cup ever…Qatar, which is trying to raise its national prestige through sports events = Qatar, a small but rich country, is trying to diversify its industrial structure through tourism and services in its energy industry, which is the world’s third-largest LNG producer. The neighboring city of Dubai is a role model. It is a modernized city image crowded with tourists from all over the world and various business events. To achieve this vision, Qatar has made a huge ‘bet’ on big sports events. Qatar spends 220 billion U.S. dollars (313 trillion won), the largest amount ever to host the World Cup. It is mainly construction investment such as modern soccer fields, hotels, and entertainment facilities that are cooled using sunlight. According to the Qatar World Cup Organizing Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Organizing Committee), the effect of the World Cup is estimated to be 17 billion dollars (24 trillion won). This is about 10% of Qatar’s GDP last year.It is estimated that the number of outpatient visitors will reach 1.2 million for 29 days from November 20 to December 18, when the competition will be held. Considering that Qatar’s total population is about 2.66 million, about half of the population flock during the World Cup.According to Bloomberg News reports, 2.9 million tickets for the game have already been sold as of October 18. As of a month before the opening, only about 7% of the tickets available for reservation were left. All 2 million rooms of accommodation, including hotels, apartments, cruise ships, and campsites, were sold out. It is such a small country that accommodation is insufficient. Qatar’s tourism authorities said on the 23rd of last month that more than 20 hotels, resorts, and shopping malls will open before the opening of the World Cup, and that they are ready to welcome soccer fans.Qatar’s tourism agency aims to increase the annual number of foreign visitors to 6 million by 2030, more than double the population, using the new tourism infrastructure as a stepping stone. Considering the Asian Games held in Doha, the capital, in 2030, the target has been greatly raised.

It is a panoramic view of the Rusail Stadium in Rusail, Qatar, where the 2022 FIFA final will be held. With a capacity of 80,000 seats, it is the largest among the eight stadiums where the Qatar World Cup will be held. Qatar’s government has built the satellite city of Rousile in Doha, the capital, and built a state-of-the-art Rousile Stadium in golden light. In front of it, men in traditional Qatar costumes are passing by. Neighboring countries have a “falling effect”…Specialty in Hotel and Tourism = Good hotels in Doha are already up to FIFA and players, and most accommodations are priced at the ceiling. In the case of a cruise ship cabin, a floating hotel in the port of Doha, the price for one night is at least $470 until the second week of the opening. The Gulf neighbors are also warming up. In particular, the UAE’s hotel industry is expected to enjoy significant characteristics by releasing new coronavirus (COVID-19) blockade of new coronavirus (COVID-19). UAE’s low-cost airlines, such as Airara, flyers decided to operate 45 every day during the World Cup period. The hotel hotels in Dubai City has already been confirmed to be booked. As a result, Dubai marathon competition, which was scheduled to open February next year, was postponed to February next year. Compared to last year, hotel reservations were reported that the hotel reservations increased by 9%, Kuwait and 33% of Jordan. Iran is expected to accommodate Qatar and soccer fans will survive.German Dartte fans are discussing problems with a large boat called “boy 2022″ and “boying Qatar 2022.” On the 22nd of last month, the Boston Dome, which held at the West Hammunmun Gate and VfB Schott, which was held at the West Hammun Gate. The growing controversy over human rights violations…The first World Cup held the first World Cup held in Jung Joong-dong, is showing its underdeveloped labor environment and human rights infringement of human rights infringement of human rights infringement. The non-human rights of “Kafala) is highlighted in the Gulf region, which is the identity guarantee system.
The suppression of LGBTQ in the Islamic State of Qatar is also a problem. Homosexuality and sex change are illegal in Qatar. In some cases, it is also punishable by death. The Qatar government has announced that it will temporarily suspend the application of the anti-gay law during the World Cup, but questions remain over whether it will be realized in the actual field.

As the World Cup in November approaches, voices for boycotting the Qatar World Cup are growing in the West, including Europe.

JAPAN(REUTERS) It is reported that the Japanese government has begun considering setting the defense budget at $30 billion for five years starting next year.

If this increase is made, Japan’s defense spending in 2027 will roughly double this year.
Citing multiple Japanese government and ruling party officials on the 8th, the government said it aims to increase defense spending by 6 to 7 trillion yen next year and increase it by 1 trillion yen from the following year to 10 trillion yen by 2027.

If all of these amounts are added, Japan’s total defense expenditure between 2023 and 2027 will be 43 to 45 trillion yen.

Japan’s defense spending this year was 5.36 trillion yen. However, the Japanese government is also considering including the budget of the Coast Guard (Korea’s Maritime Police Agency) and pensions (pensions) paid to retired soldiers in order to avoid financial pressure from excessive defense costs.

South Korea’s defense spending was slightly higher at 38.32 billion dollars as of this year.

However, as Japan decided to significantly increase defense spending in the name of security threats from China and North Korea, Japan’s budget will be ahead of South Korea again from next year.

According to the mid-term defense plan announced by the Ministry of National Defense in September last year, the government’s target defense budget for five years from 2022 to 2026 was $219.08 billion.

Japan’s defense budget for 2023-2027 will be more than $70.1 billion higher than that.

JAPAN(REUTERS)The Liberal Democratic Party won the House of Representatives election in October last year and the Upper House election in July by promising to significantly increase defense costs.

According to the pledge book at the time, NATO members are trying to raise the defense budget to 2% of GDP, and Japan also aims to achieve the budget level necessary to fundamentally strengthen its defense capabilities within five years.

According to the report by the Mainichi Shimbun, Japan’s defense spending will roughly double the current level in 2027, five years later, close to 2% of the gross domestic product targeted by NATO members.

In a speech at the Japanese National Assembly on the 3rd, Kishida said, “It is Japan’s top mission to strengthen deterrence and countermeasures to firmly protect its territory, territorial waters, and airspace.”

JAPAN(REUTERS)The specific size of Japan’s defense spending over the next five years will be finalized by the end of this year.

Currently, the Japanese government will revise three major security documents by the end of this year: the National Security Strategy,　the Defense Program outline, and the Mid-term Defense Force Plan.

The specific goal of increasing defense costs will be included in the mid-term defense plan, which will determine what weapons the government should buy over the next five years.

The problem is the budget. Japan does not have financial capacity, with its national debt twice as much as its gross domestic product.

For this reason, there is a conflict between the government’s plan to issue government bonds to secure defense costs and the government’s plan to raise taxes.

As a result, there is even discussion on the ” expedient” of calculating the budget of the Korea Coast Guard in defense expenses.

Currently, a series of promising pitchers who can throw more than 150 kilometers are emerging in the Korean amateur baseball world. A number of promising pitchers come out every year.

Currently, there are many promising players in high school baseball that can catch the attention of the Major League. Shim Joon-seok, Kim Seo-hyun, and Shin Young-woo are attracting attention from the Major League as well as the KBO League. It is evaluated that it can lead to a sense of power immediately enough. However, the reality is that there are no promising batters. It is a cold analysis that there are no good hitters who can hit a light ball that is more than 150km properly and make a good ball. Probably because most of the U.S. major leagues were pitchers. (Chan-ho Park, Byung-hyun Kim, Jae-eung-seo, Sun-woo Kim, Hyun-jin Ryu) Pitcher Hee-seop Choi, Choi, Shin Soo-chu, and some players are playing in the U.S. Major League after several years. However, he seems to think that success as a batter is difficult except for a few fielders.Of course, Ha Sung-Kim is a brilliant multi-infielder (3rd base, shortstop, 2nd base) after going through Korean professional baseball in the San Diego Padres. However, he is evaluated as a backup player rather than a main player, and in comparison, he is okay. It seems that he is still adjusting to hitting.

Scout A said, “I think the absence of a power heater is something that the Korean baseball community should seriously consider. That phenomenon has intensified in recent years. There was Kim Do-young last year, but it was difficult to see him as a typical power hitter. High school baseball resources that can grow into big guns are gradually decreasing. It is safe to say that the seeds have dried up recently. If there is no power heater, it can be a problem for the league’s box office. Currently, the number of typical home run hitters in the KBO league is gradually decreasing. I think this is a phenomenon that occurs as the number of players who are likely to grow in amateurs continues to decrease. I think it’s time to think about whether there is a problem with the coaching method or the players’ choices. Recognizing that it is a crisis in Korean baseball, I think we should consider the problem of the absence of a power heater. I’m just a passing guest, but shouldn’t Korean baseball maintain its roots? As a person who cares about the KBO League and Korean baseball, I’m really worried about this,” he said.

It is clear that pitching power is the priority of all teams. Only when he has pitching power can he challenge for the championship. In any team, pitchers are treated better. Good resources are joining each team one after another every year.

However, home run hitters are very rare. It is now difficult to find a player who is considered a definite big gun.

Players who have the advantage of defense and base running are entering the professional league, but it has been a long time since finding a power heater has become a power heater. Han Dong-hee and Noh Si-hwan can be the last generation. Han Dong-hee and Roh Si-hwan also need to learn more from professionals to grow into typical home run hitters.

It has become difficult to find a power heater in high school baseball to the extent that Major League scouts are worried. It is a serious situation that can be directly connected to the success of the KBO League.

Scout A said, “I’m not just talking about high school seniors right now. Reports keep coming up that it is difficult to find a possible batter among the first and second graders. Reinforcing power heaters in Korean high school baseball is tantamount to giving up. Power heaters do not necessarily have to come to the Major League, but I think they should also have a sense of crisis in the KBO League. Leaders should think about why there is no good power heater coming out and think about it.

Korea is the greatest producer of ginseng in the world. It is difficult for mainstream medical circles to acknowledge the medical properties of ginseng. For decades in Korea, ginseng berry and ginseng leaf teas have widely been used to boost elasticity and care wrinkles. According to Albert Einstein’s study, ginseng berry helps to mop up harmful free radicals, inhibit the activity of aging, and activate the sirtuins. In addition, according to the research done in University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, it is proven that ginseng berry is effective for diabetes and obesity. Ginseng berry contains all of the essential nutrients and has 30% of ginsenoside, which is ginseng’s saponin. In addition, ginseng berry has three times more Ginsenoside Re, which is more effective for diabetes than ginseng roots. Since ginseng berry has had more saponin(ginsenoside) than ginseng roots, ginseng berry is now undergoing experiments by researchers.

While its medicinal value is debated today, its popularity isn’t. Ginseng berries are found only in ginseng aged over 3 years. Especially, it is difficult to have the suitable ginseng berries because they are too small to be reaped in 3-year-old ginseng, while 5-year-old ginseng’s flowers are cut off to keep its root healthy. Therefore, only the berries in 4-year-old ginseng is perfect to be used as a food. Initially, Ginseng berry is green, then it gets red during mid July; finally, it falls down in August. However, the harvested fruits are no longer stored for a long period of time as it withers in a day. Therefore, “Ginseng Khan” developed a method of sealing food of ginseng berry extract.

All manner of health-enhancing properties have been attributed to this unusual looking ginseng. According to studies done from Daejin University and Kangwon National University, “In order to increase amounts of saponins, ginseng goes through a special process of steaming and drying four times, and fermentation in order to improve internal resorption of the product.” Ginseng Khan is the product that went through those processes. However, it is proven that the ginseng berry has a large potential as healthy food with new fermentation technology. Furthermore, it is proven that you will have more health benefits by having ginseng berry, which is 100% organically home-grown. I wish you felt how effective the new red ginseng is for your health.
