Google, OpenAI, and Microsoft have been blocking access to AI chatbot services in Hong Kong in recent months.
In the case of Open AI, which operates Chat GPT, Hong Kong and mainland China were placed on the list of “restricted countries” alongside North Korea, Syria, and Iran.
These companies refused to answer why they blocked the use of chatbots in Hong Kong. However, the WSJ explained that this change is not irrelevant to the situation in which U.S. tech companies have become more inclined to treat Hong Kong as one of China’s cities, not as a global financial and business hub.Hong Kong’s Internet environment is not the same as before. Apple is reportedly filtering out “suspicious” websites with China’s Tencent in Hong Kong. Internet users protested that social media (SNS) mastodon, which has emerged as a rival to Twitter, and even legal sites have been blocked, but “filtering” is still ongoing. Websites that Tencent blocked from accessing in Hong Kong also included U.S. cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and coding community GitHub.

Disney removed two episodes of the animated “The Simpsons” from Hong Kong’s online video service (OTT) that mentioned forced labor camps in China and the 1989 Tiananmen pro-democracy protests. According to an official familiar with the matter, the move is due to concerns over the violation of the Hong Kong National Security Law enacted in 2020.Attention is also being paid to the results of the Hong Kong court’s request for a ban on singing “Glory to Hong Kong” scheduled for the 12th.
The request to virtually ban “Glory to Hong Kong,” which anti-government protesters like to sing, also included blocking 32 related YouTube videos. It is the first time that a U.S. tech company has been involved in Songsa in earnest over politically sensitive content in Hong Kong.George Chen, who served as the head of the Chinese rental at Facebook’s parent company Meta, predicted that if the Hong Kong court accepts the blocking request, the authorities’ legal action against U.S. tech companies could be “bottled up.”Some point out that Hong Kong’s Internet environment has become closer to mainland China, where the Internet censorship system “Tanli Firewall” is located
Some Hong Kong residents are bypassing the virtual private network (VPN) as in mainland China as AI chatbots are blocked. Even a Hong Kong government spokesman emphasizes that it is still possible to use chatbots as alternative means such as VPN, saying that he respects Google’s “restricting access to Hong Kong.”The outflow of IT personnel is also continuing. Hong Kong, with a population of 7.5 million, is not a major market for U.S. tech companies in itself, but due to its unique free information distribution environment, companies and IT workers have chosen Hong Kong as their home base. However, over the past three years, tens of thousands of IT personnel have left Hong Kong, and one of the reasons is the contraction of freedom of expression.According to a survey released in March this year by the Hong Kong American Chamber of Commerce, only 38% of the respondents said they would have free access to the Internet and information platforms in Hong Kong over the next three years.Microsoft is also reportedly planning to move AI experts from Beijing to North America, not Hong Kong. Microsoft Research Asia (MSRA), which has also been called a “star training center” for producing a number of talented people leading the Chinese IT industry, will exclude key AI experts from China.China’s state-run Global Times commented on a report by the British Financial Times (FT) that Microsoft has begun the process of transferring high-quality AI personnel to Vancouver, Canada, saying, “It is a pure exaggeration that a research institute ‘threatens’ China’s talent development.”

Informining is a compound word that combines info of information and Mining of data mining, meaning that it will extract information and make something meaningful. Our company’s goal is to provide services to create a world for people with advanced technology. Now, it is starting in the medical field, but after the service for all patients is provided, it plans to expand into various fields. It is difficult to say that it is a company that provides medical services. It’s just a company that develops health monitoring solutions. Among the world’s top five diseases, the artificial intelligence healthcare Hattihati service has been developed to help heart disease patients detect abnormalities and maintain life through 24-hour electrocardiogram and blood pressure checks. Currently, technologies are being developed to help patients in areas other than diagnosis and prescription within regulations.Hattihathii’s major artificial intelligence (AI) services can be largely divided into three areas: calibration AI, electrocardiogram analysis AI, and personalized AI. Here, calibration AI is an AI developed to satisfy the limitation of a smart device as an H/W, and is an AI to increase the accuracy of the device’s measured value compared to a medical device. Second, ECG analysis AI is an AI that checks and diagnoses heart diseases, myocardial infarction, and arrhythmia found in hospitals, and it is an analysis AI that makes it possible to see the heart from 12 angles. Finally, personalized AI is an AI that sets the normal range standard for different biological signals for each person, which alarms risk figures and records them in case of simple abnormal signals. Some have been developed and some are almost finished or are in the verification stage. I took care of my father and mother for more than 10 years. In particular, in the case of my mother, I couldn’t go out alone at home because of blood pressure and heart problems. After my parents died, I felt that there were many problems with similar cases, so I developed an artificial intelligence for medical self-diagnosis, which was selected for a government support project and started a business.Actually, I originally wanted to be a doctor. Of course, the reason was greatly influenced by my parents, but I had to take care of them because of my father’s worsening condition. No one could make money, so in the early 20s, I did a similar job as an intern. However, my mother was fighting various cancers, and my sister also suffered a lot due to her weak constitution.

For a long time, I did not know what to do while caring for my parents, so I went to all offices in Seocho-dong or Guro-dong to tell them stories and circumstances and asked them to work. Consulting seemed to suit my aptitude, so while preparing to work, a warrant flew in and I had to go to the army. After being discharged from the military, I thought about my career path, took the SAT to go to the U.S., and luckily passed UCLA. However, there was a setback in the plan to go through state support, so I had no choice but to give up. When I entered college and was contemplating another career path, my mother’s illness worsened and I started fighting against the disease, and this time I started caring for my mother again. At this time, he could not enter the house for almost three years, lived in a hospital, and took care of the patient, and the surgery went well, but his mother eventually died due to a recurrence. One of the things that was really hard at this time was that there was no window for patients or guardians to know information at all. I had no means to manage my health at home. Since Korea is a medical powerhouse, the technology for treatment is really good, but the problem is that there is no way to know the information. At this time, I desperately felt that I should know my physical condition and be able to manage it on my own, and this was the opportunity to develop Hearty Hearty. The company’s establishment process has been examined, and the U.S., Australia, Japan, and China are currently making results in providing solutions and measuring data solutions in hospitals and healthcare fields, and it is being programmed and used as a monitoring solution for patients, wards, and doctors through the application of university hospitals in Korea. Based on this, investment and licensing contracts are being made in various countries to apply these performance solutions.

AI startups, which have moved into “AI Yangjae Hub,” a technology start-up promotion agency in the AI (Artificial Intelligence) field in Seoul, are attracting attention with results in various fields such as attracting investment at home and increasing sales.

“AI Yangjae Hub” is the first AI technology start-up development institution in Korea opened in December 2017 by Seoul Metropolitan Government to create a “artificial intelligence specialized base” where AI talent and companies are concentrated.

It is operating one-stop corporate support programs such as funding, investment attraction, networking, and R&D, as well as a step-by-step curriculum to foster AI professionals.

As of early March 2022, there are about 100 AI start-ups in the AI Yangjae Hub, and about 50 companies have graduated so far. AI Yangjae Hub operates a “membership program” for non-resident companies to expand the base of the AI industry and is also striving to create a community ecosystem between more than 100 startups with AI technology and AI Yangjae Hub tenants.

Despite the ongoing severe COVID-19 situation, artificial intelligence-specific companies that have moved into AI Yangjae Hub are showing overall growth in terms of sales, investment, and employment. As of the end of FY21, tenant companies posted 81.9 billion won (about 80 million dollars) in sales, up 25 percent from the previous year. It is also notable that the amount of investment attracted has more than doubled compared to the previous year. In 2020, tenant companies, which recorded about 52.1 billion won in investment attraction, recorded a total of 116.7 billion won in investment attraction in 2021 with successive large-scale investment attraction due to steep growth. The number of workers more than doubled compared to the previous year, reaching 732 at the end of 2021.

Behind the growth of these AI startups is various corporate growth and collaboration programs unique to AI Yangjae Hub.

In the case of early start-ups, the factors needed for growth are different, but among them, investment is one of the most important factors in growth. Among the investment-related programs, the startup build-up program AI Seed Camp, which was conducted in cooperation with Infobank Co., Ltd., found five promising early companies as a result of its operation, two of which received direct investment support and one was finally selected as TIPS.

AI startup Demo Day ‘IR Runway’, an AI Yangjae hub investment attraction support program, focuses on recruiting investors with a lot of investment history in AI-specific companies and matches interested companies and investors to hold 1:1 customized investor meetings. In fact, a total of 81 investment meetings (mentoring) were held through the operation of the last demo day, and two companies achieved 2.4 billion won in investment attraction.

AI Yangjae Hub, where companies in the artificial intelligence field are gathered, is also attracting attention from various investors. One of the biggest advantages of the AI Yangjae Hub is that companies, investment companies, and institutions that want to meet artificial intelligence-specific companies can meet several tenants at once.

In addition, AI Yangjae Hub is providing a place for companies to create synergy through mutual collaboration by taking advantage of its own strengths where companies in the artificial intelligence field are concentrated. In 2021, tenant companies collaborated through the tenant company cooperation project to develop solutions to reduce food emissions in Seoul and pilot 10 workplaces.

Businesses are also operating to address difficulties in corporate management. AI Yangjae Hub’s management support service “AISSIST” expands the pool of experts in various fields such as tax and accounting patents, personnel, labor, and technology to solve various difficulties faced by hub companies when operating their businesses, and provides companies with continuous mentoring opportunities.

AI Yangjae hub companies are also actively entering overseas markets. This is due to supporting global market localization consulting and global market entry support programs. At this CES 2022, 11 companies affiliated with AI Yangjae Hub participated in the “Seoul Pavilion” jointly created and operated by AI Yangjae Hub, and two of them won the CES Innovation Award. In addition to the Seoul Pavilion, it won the top innovation award from one of the hub companies that participated in CES 2022 and the innovation award from four companies. Businesses that reflect companies’ demand for entry into the global market have also been actively underway since 2011, such as supporting lectures on strategies to enter the global market and characteristics of each country through cooperation with 500 Global, a leading private AC company in Silicon Valley.

Jong Yung Yoon, Managing Director of AI Yangjae Hub, said, “We are making efforts to provide practical support to companies and strengthen investment and technical support through organic cooperation with the private sector.” I hope that AI Yangjae Hub will come to mind when it comes to artificial intelligence in Korea,” he said.

In the near future, anyone who thinks of Korean artificial intelligence will naturally think of the “AI Yangjae Hub,” where various AI-specialized companies gather together to grow into a representative artificial intelligence company in the future, along with various support programs.

Currently, large companies Skc&c and AIA Life Insurance are developing joint healthcare solutions with mou. It’s been announced.

AIA Life Insurance is developing an artificial intelligence-based health care platform. To this end, it will join hands with SK C&C, a leading IT solution company in Korea.

AIA Life Insurance’s Korean branch (CEO: Cha Tae-jin, hereinafter “AIA Life”) signed a memorandum of understanding with SK C&C (CEO: Park Jung-ho) at SK Group’s headquarters in Seorin-dong, Jongno-gu. It announced that it has decided to jointly develop a customer-centered digital integrated health care platform using AIA Vitality, a global health care program, and SK C&C’s artificial intelligence Aibril.

Through this MOU, the two companies plan to build customized health care services by combining “AIA Vitality,” the first scientific health care program in the Asia-Pacific region, and “Aibril,” an artificial intelligence using Watson of SK C&C. The plan is to reduce the risk of major diseases caused by smoking, drinking, poor eating habits, and lack of exercise by allowing customers to have healthy lifestyles on their own.

“AIA Vitality” is AIA Life Insurance’s scientific health care program that presents knowledge and methods for members to protect their health on their own. Using the principles of behavioral economics, members pursue healthy habits and provide various benefits such as discount coupons such as fitness centers, yoga centers, health foods, plane tickets, and coffee when they achieve their given goals. Through this, members can continue to make efforts for their own health care.

SK Co., Ltd. C&C plans to increase the service level of “AIA Vitality” as a customized health management service that considers individual physical characteristics, lifestyle, and living environment by utilizing IoT technology capabilities such as ▲ Watson-based artificial intelligence “Abril” ▲ various wearable devices.

The two companies plan to prepare various reward programs in the future and make it easier for domestic healthcare companies to participate in providing health care services through an “integrated digital health management platform.”

And it seems that artificial intelligence robots, especially seniors, have conversations or provide non-face-to-face emergency notification services.

Wonderful Platform, a developer, taught robots how to care for the elderly, living environment, and medical knowledge through artificial intelligence and applied related manuals.

It has added a speechless function to soothe the elderly’s sense of isolation and is equipped with various activity functions to prevent dementia.

“In an emergency, if you touch this emergency button or shout for help, an emergency notification will be sent to your guardian.”

With the development of such a care robot, the Wonderful Platform participated in the non-face-to-face welfare sector during the government’s Korean version of the New Deal project last year and received support such as upgrading services, and was selected as the best case of the Korean version of the New Deal this month.

Currently, care services are provided to 2,600 elderly people through local governments and health centers nationwide.

As the demand for non-face-to-face care services increases amid the COVID-19 situation, the service targets will be further expanded not only to the elderly but also to children with developmental disabilities.

There seems to be a lot of regrets. It seems to be a simple companion, an emergency notification, and knowledge information sharing. It is just an object called a robot, and it seems not enough to be called artificial intelligence. It feels like a non-face-to-face caregiver robot.

If so, attention is already paid to the Korea University Hospital (Yonsei Foundation Severance, Korea University Hospital, Yeungnam University Hospital, Pusan National University Hospital, etc.), institutions (Disease Headquarters, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Foreign Affairs), and the Airport Management Corporation. Japan’s Omron, Softbank, DataScope, Fujisoft, Toyota (Elematec Corporation), and Matsui Corporation have been conducting artificial intelligence tests in Spain for more than a year, combining basic diagnoses such as blood pressure, blood sugar, electrocardiogram, and oxygen saturation with general devices (wearable watches) and their servers. Although it is a small and medium-sized company, I think it is the best existing company that combines medical care with more than 20 professional software hardware developers. Tele-doc, a U.S. NASDAQ-listed company, also sent a LOI and is set to enter the U.S.

CES, the world’s largest technology show, opened on January 5, 2022.

Though the event returned as an offline event for the first time in two years, the spread of the Omicron Covid-19 variant had caused many American tech giants to change course and attend virtually. Among these companies were Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Meta (Facebook). Accordingly, the in-person presence of Korean companies was especially highlighted at CES 2022.

The Consumer Technology Association hosted the event in Las Vegas, from January 5 to January 7, 2022 (local time). Though it was originally scheduled to run through January 8, the closing date was moved up in light of the pandemic.

The number of attending companies, at around 2200, was down by half from the pre-pandemic CES of 2020. On the other hand, Korean companies made their largest ever appearance, with over 500 exhibitors. This was an increase of around 29% from 390 in 2020. Not only the automobile industry but also the hollow industry attended this year’s CES to showcase advanced technologies.

Recently, Japan is striving to revive semiconductors by investing about 5 trillion won in its host plant in Japan to TSMC (the world’s best foundry company). Three countries, Intel in the U.S. and Samsung in Korea, are leading semiconductors, and Japan accounted for more than 50 percent of the world’s share in the 1980s. However, although Taiwan’s TSMC is the largest company in assembly production, it is still short of ultra-nano technology at a time when production and mass production of 3-nano 5-nano are set to take place. Samsung promotes the excellence of the ultra-nano process, Intel promotes ultra-nano mass production as the largest investment in the United States, and TSMC promotes maximum assembly production. However, I would like to talk about the current situation of the industry as a shortage of supplies after the current COVID-19 crisis.

As vehicle production, which had decreased significantly due to COVID-19 until the second quarter of 2020, has normalized since the second half of 2020, the supply of semiconductors for vehicles, which has soared suddenly, has not been able to keep up. As the global shortage of semiconductors for automobiles intensifies, the aftermath of the semiconductor shortage is spreading throughout the automobile industry, with major automakers cutting production. The semiconductor shortage faced by the auto industry at a time when it is about to recover from the damage caused by COVID-19 is expected to have a significant impact on the entire industry. We will learn about the current status and prospects of the shortage of semiconductors for vehicles that are hitting the automobile industry.Experts analyze that the current shortage of semiconductors for vehicles occurs for complex reasons. One of the main reasons is the rapid rise in demand for consumption home appliances, 5G mobile phones and communication networks, and games, IT platforms and devices in conjunction with COVID-19, increasing the demand for semiconductors essential for home appliances. On the other hand, the automobile industry struggled until the third quarter of 2020, due to the influence of COVID-19, so major semiconductor suppliers seem to have received orders for semiconductors for home appliances before semiconductors for vehicles and started production.

In a report published in February, IHS Markit, a global market research firm, also suggested an analysis that the current semiconductor shortage problem may have been predicted before 2020. The biggest reason is that the demand for microcontroller or microcontroller unit (MCU) chips in the automobile industry explodes, while few companies produce them. According to IHS Markit, the MCU is an average of 40 nanometers (40 nm) ultra-small chip, and the process of manufacturing this chip requires very high capital and technology. Therefore, there are limited factories that can supply MCU chips, and major semiconductor companies do not have their own factories but produce semiconductors through consignment production. Companies that develop semiconductor technology and design semiconductors without factories are called Fabless companies, and companies that manufacture semiconductors with factories are called Fab or Foundry. Currently, 70% of the world’s MCU share for automobiles is occupied by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), a leading foundry (semiconductor consignment production), which is causing bottlenecks in supplying automobile MCUs as TSMC announces overall production restrictions in 2020.The MCU, which is made with minimal computer elements such as processors, memory, and input/output buses embedded in one integrated circuit, is an essential part for all electronic devices and has become an indispensable part for automobiles as automobiles have recently become electronic devices. Automobile MCUs are used in various parts of the vehicle, such as powertrain, chassis, electronic stability control device, body control module, and advanced driver support system (ADAS). Therefore, the shortage of semiconductors is expected to have a significant impact on primary suppliers that produce and deliver electronic control units (ECUs), which are mainly used in vehicles. Companies such as Bosch, Continental, and Denso, global primary automotive parts suppliers, make at least 30 different ECUs, and recently announced that there is a lack of supply of MCUs and analog direct circuits (ICs) purchased from outside.

Considering the complex semiconductor manufacturing process, IHS Markit predicted that the current shortage of semiconductors for vehicles will not be resolved in a short period of time. Analysts say the semiconductor shortage will continue until the third quarter of 2021, and supply will be normalized only when semiconductor manufacturing plants rearrange their production capabilities and demand for consumer appliances subsides. The impact of the semiconductor shortage on the automobile industry began to become visible in earnest from the end of January. According to an analysis by IHS Markit as of January 29, the production of about 672,000 vehicles worldwide is expected to decrease in the first quarter of 2021 due to a disruption in semiconductor supply. In China alone, production of 250,000 vehicles is expected to be the most affected, and in North America, production of more than 100,000 vehicles is expected to be reduced.According to an analysis by AutoForcast Solution, an auto consulting firm, 85 auto factories worldwide suspended production for more than a day due to semiconductor supply until February 11, with 23 in North America, 26 in Europe and 36 in the Asia-Pacific region. In North America, carmakers such as Ford, Stellantis (FCA-PGA merger), Honda, and Toyota began to reduce production in January, and GM also decided to suspend three production plants in North America for a week in February. At a press briefing on Thursday, February 11, the White House promised to take “aggressive measures” to address the shortage of semiconductors for automakers in the U.S. White House spokesman Gen Psaki said the Biden administration is in talks with related companies and trading partners to identify bottlenecks in semiconductor supply and come up with immediate solutions, and plans to come up with comprehensive strategies to avoid supply bottlenecks that the semiconductor industry has faced for years in the long run. Also, according to Bloomberg News on February 18, Brian Deeds, the Biden administration’s top economic adviser, seems to be taking diplomatic measures to resolve the situation by sending a letter to Taiwan’s economy minister Wang Mei-hua on the semiconductor shortage issue. Bloomberg News predicted that President Biden would sign an executive order in the next few weeks to review the supply chain for major products at the pan-government level. The draft executive order reportedly includes a plan to review the supply chain of products such as semiconductor manufacturing and packaging, major minerals, medical supplies, and high-capacity electric vehicle batteries by the National Economic Council and the National Security Council.

Meanwhile, CEOs of 21 companies belonging to the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) sent a letter to President Biden on Thursday, February 11 urging the government to support companies that produce semiconductors domestically. The letter was co-signed by CEOs of major U.S. semiconductor companies such as Intel Corp., Qualcomm Inc., and Advanced Micro Devices Inc. The SIA stresses that U.S. companies’ global semiconductor share has fallen from 37% in 1990 to 12% now, calling for practical incentives for domestic semiconductor manufacturers to be included in Biden’s policy fund for “better reconstruction.” The United Auto Workers (UAW) also said in a statement this week that domestic production of important parts such as semiconductors needs to increase and urged the Biden administration to establish a trade policy that allows U.S. workers to produce high-tech products that rely on offshore procurement. In general, it takes 12 to 16 weeks to manufacture semiconductors, and in the case of MCUs, it takes 26 to 38 weeks of lead time. Currently, the lead time of almost all chips has been extended by one to two months due to a lack of supply, so experts predict that the shortage of semiconductors for automobiles will continue until the second quarter of 2021. Some analysts say that large foundry companies such as TSMC will not receive additional orders before the third quarter of 2021.

In an interview with the Detroit Trade Center, J Consultant at AutoForcast Solution said, “There seems to be no short-term solution to the current semiconductor shortage,” predicting that announcements will continue to suspend plant operations or reduce production over the next few weeks. It also diagnosed that the current situation has emerged as a structural problem caused by semiconductor companies using a “fab-light” strategy that gives more outsourcing to external foundry rather than expanding production lines and investing in equipment in the past.

Many automakers are expected to find alternative suppliers that can source semiconductors while adjusting production volume according to semiconductor supply for the time being. Therefore, it may be an opportunity for new companies to enter the market. In the era of self-driving cars, nearly 2,000 semiconductors are expected to be used in one vehicle, and the automotive semiconductor industry will play a key role not only in the current and long term of supply shortages. In Korea, many major conglomerates competing for the world’s No. 1 and No. 2 semiconductor technology are cooperating with mid-sized companies, and mid-sized companies are also throwing their hat into the semiconductor market for automobiles. Based on such solid technology, it is time for Korean auto parts makers to make efforts to find future food in the semiconductor market for automobiles.

Medicine is to maintain and promote health and prevent diseases, and when you are sick, you can recover and rehabilitate your health so that you can adapt to society. In general, medicine is largely divided into basic medicine, clinical medicine, and preventive medicine. There are three factors that cause the disease to occur. The first is the physical, biological, social, cultural, and economic environment. The second is the host (human), which is related to age, sex, nutrition, lifestyle, and medical type. Third, pathogens (factors) include bacteria, physical factors, and chemicals. Humans and pathogens have a leverage relationship with the environment. Therefore, increasing resistance to human diseases or improving various environments reduces the likelihood of becoming ill relatively. Looking at human history, it has long been trying to prevent diseases. For example, in the Old Testament, there was a practice rate of various hygiene necessary for nomadic life, and cholera and plague were prevalent in the Middle Ages, and quarantine was conducted for this purpose. In Korea, when giving birth, a gold string was hung on the gate to control the access of outsiders, preventing the infection of diseases to babies and mothers born. Humans have been preventing diseases for a long time like this, but they have known it through experience. However, after R. Koch figured out how to separate and cultivate bacteria in 1876, pathogens that cause the disease could be detected, and preventive medicine developed further. The stages of preventing diseases are often divided into three. Maintaining and promoting health through efforts such as improving the environment and increasing resistance to diseases before the outbreak is called primary prevention. It includes controlling physical strength and improving health through jogging and aerobic dance, improving nutrition through meals, and preventing various accidents to prevent high blood pressure and diabetes, which are active prevention. Passively, it refers to preventing the occurrence of diseases by increasing immunity by receiving various vaccinations. Secondary prevention is to find out as early as possible once the outbreak has occurred and treat it, and to prevent the disease from becoming more severe. In other words, regular physical examinations are performed, and middle-aged women undergo regular checkups several times a year for early diagnosis of uterine cancer. The tertiary prevention is to prevent the occurrence of aftereffects when they have already occurred so that physical function is not impaired. On the other hand, if the occurrence of aftereffects is inevitable, it refers to rehabilitation so that they can return to society and adapt. As such, the concept of prevention has been widely applied from before the outbreak of the disease to rehabilitation after the outbreak, and has developed in various ways with the development of medicine. The prevention of these diseases has extended the lifespan of mankind and has greatly contributed to the quality of life. Preventive activities are making mankind as free from the pain of disease as possible. It is grateful to treat the disease when it develops and hurts, but it is desirable to take a step further to prevent the disease, and it is also economical. When sick, treatment costs a lot, income often decreases or disappears, and sometimes even labor is lost. Therefore, prevention or early treatment not only has a double effect but is also efficient. For example, vaccinations against measles or polio do not cost a lot, but once it occurs, not only does it cost a lot of treatment but also causes aftereffects. Therefore, it can be seen that preventive medicine is humanitarian, effective, and economical. These days, preventive activities are becoming very diverse. Acute infectious diseases caused by hospital microorganisms such as bacteria and viruses have been significantly reduced or eradicated due to environmental and nutritional improvements and vaccinations. Rather, non-infectious diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and various cancers are problematic. In Korea, along with rapid economic growth, problems of adult diseases and occupational diseases are emerging. Exposure to toxic chemicals such as exhaust gas from automobiles and factories or harmful radiation, an increase in the smoking population such as teenagers and women, obesity caused by excessive nutrition, and various diseases are challenges that mankind must overcome. Some of these are unknown causes, so they need to be identified, and they know that they are closely related to each other, such as screeching and lung cancer, but some are difficult to solve.

I would like to introduce Se-jin Park, CEO of Sewon Intelligence to these important issues. He worked for the Korea Institute of Standards and Sciences along 30 years. This institution developed an intelligent real-time monitoring platform with the experience and know-how gained through all products, systems, and environments used by humans. He’s an expert among experts. Perhaps that’s why it seems that the most important part was developed intensively. To explain the core, it is a health platform that measures biometric information in the body, transmits it through wireless communication, processes it as data, and provides it to medical experts to build healthcare services. In particular, the last CES 2020 (Consumer Electronics Show) showed real-time health monitoring while sleeping, and is currently preparing to approve MFDS. In addition, it showed the world’s first “symbolic monitoring system” for the first time in the industry. Next time, it would like to show the development of the technology and utilization of Sewon Intelligence in more detail.

Our brain is a central system tower that controls the whole body. It is the most important part of thinking and moving and deciding what to do. Han Hyung-seop, CEO of HHS Co, Ltd, is a company that identifies biorhythms with these brain waves and uses artificial intelligence as data collected. He is a bioengineering major and has done research specifically on data signals. Therefore, he developed a helmet-type device by intensively studying the signature of data, which is the core of artificial intelligence solutions, in cognitive biorhythm.

The Tencent Institute of Artificial Intelligence in China has launched an artificial intelligence model that detects human movements and detects Parkinson’s disease. The evaluation process is simple. When a person makes a series of actions in front of a camera, artificial intelligence analyzes and diagnoses through image identification technology. It is said that it is trying to release an identification model that helps rehabilitate patients with cerebral palsy in the future and a model that analyzes the motor nerves of older people.

As such, multinational and large companies are already actively researching and developing various milk powders using artificial intelligence, especially in healthcare. However, the resistance of medical staff who suspect accurate analysis and diagnosis is also fierce, appealing to and approaching the public under the names of smart care, non-face-to-face care and video care. It is thought that proper cooperation and communication in both areas can achieve the most appropriate diagnostic analysis solution. In the end, the idea is that to accurately analyze and diagnose the collected data, we must provide a lot of reference data to artificial intelligence and operate big data well.

HHS CEO Han demonstrating his product

Currently, the world has access and research using artificial intelligence in many fields such as industrial groups and healthcare. Therefore, HHS’s development solutions are also worthy of attention. However, how to be linked and what areas to be developed should eventually be collected with data on biorhythms through the brain, and artificial intelligence solutions should be useful. Toyota, DataScope, Maxell, Carecom, and others, which are leading Japanese companies, are already interested in developing businesses that use solutions with this company through contracts such as NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement). What we need to note about this is that this company’s development capability has reached a significant level.

Infomining is a solution company that specializes in healthcare. The company is recognized for its excellence in disease control headquarters, airport entry and exit management, and hospitals and organizations by applying web solutions and devices developed directly in South Korea after the corona crisis. Through this, large pharmaceutical companies and the largest telecommunications companies in Korea are discussing business plans to apply solutions and devices from infomining to the general public.

It has also been introduced overseas to the Middle East of Japan, and Japan is discussing planning investments for application and transaction with domestic companies (Carecom, DataScope, Maxel, and NTT Data) with cooperation with Elematec under Toyota Group. Of course, it was well introduced, and by the time the industry was concerned about how to take the most efficient management and data in response to the global corona crisis, Infomining had measured biorhythm with wearable devices and already achieved 95 percent accuracy which is more than that of normal hospital measuring equipment. In addition, these solutions have drawn keen attention from the medical community in the drive for non-face-to-face informining’s solutions. Jae-yong Lee, CEO of Infomining Co., Ltd, will directly participate with more than twenty professional software development personnel. The paper published with such passion is recognized in Spain, Europe, and will be invited to lecture in November. It is showing the capabilities of Infomining beyond Korea to Japan, the United States, and Europe.

In Korea, many companies are conducting R&D pilot projects with governmental support. Among them, a company called HHS Co., Ltd built a solution to help work in the industrial workplace by attaching devices to helmets, which are protective equipment in the industrial sector. Although it is in the process of increasing utilization after developing and designing, it is attracting interest and receiving suggestions from Japan and other countries. It seems more useful because biorhythm is a system that can control and manage workers’ work situations in the main solution application through video analysis.

It must be a sufficient solution for industrial groups, construction sites, and for dense groups or safety needs. In Korea and other countries, the development of various industries and public service places always prioritize safety, and in order to do so, we need to manage systems, appliances, and facilities by professional managers. The device developed by HHS Co., Ltd enables workers to communicate with more systematic professionals and the vital signs can be delivered directly to managers in the control booth through the helmet worn.

The smart helmet has been introduced to Japanese and other companies, and letters of intent have already been sent with interest from Shimizu Shipbuilding, Tokyo Electron, a reactionary equipment company, and Joseph, an American plant developer.

Training professional manpower is important, but the key is that systematic management and control can be safely achieved through manpower. We live in an environmental disaster and a collective system and use public facilities. So it would be useful and convenient to use in the construction sites and infrastructure industries. Therefore, it is hoped that the company’s development items introduced above will be used for both managers, users and builders.
