Development of non invasive operation

Minimally invasive operations are often considered the standard of care, trumping traditional open surgery for many procedures. The number of operations that can be performed with a “keyhole” surgery is growing. Many physicians say that we have reached the point where there is no procedure that cannot be done laparoscopic and there is a lot of evidence that suggests that the laparoscopic approach is superior to the open surgery.

For patients, the tiny incisions mean quicker healing, smaller scars and less post-operative time in the hospital and many patients say the difference in recovery and quality of the procedure’s success is spectacular. The success and flourish of minimally invasive operations are possible with the developing of laparoscope which is now evolving into 3D. Compared to 2D, the 3D system could allow those doctors who are unable to visually navigate using the standard two-dimensional system to successfully perform minimally invasive surgeries. To meet the growing demand of more accurate 3D laparoscope, many companies including maker of conventional 2D laparoscopes, start to introduce 3D laparoscope systems. Among them, South Korean company Sometech’s Dr. Scope 3D laparoscope is getting attentions from physicians around world for its functionality and outstanding qualities.

Dr. Scope 3D laparoscope is equipped with a 3D camera head which enable to create stereo image with Visual Depth Perception function, which makes laparoscopy image more accurate. With three high resolutions Full HD Chip, CCD image sensor in Camera can provides outstanding Full HD visualization which maximizes in color expression, hand-eye coordination, helping the surgeon to maintain a high level of concentration. Moreover, high resolution ROD lens that developed by Sometech with technical cooperation with revered optical manufacturer in Germany helps to provide superior quality high resolution image. At the same time, Sometech applies the Binocular Disparity Controller to create the real time optical 3D image.

The Binocular Disparity Controller minimizes the surgeons’ headache, dizziness and nausea during the surgery and reduces the time required in training of using Dr. Cam scope 3D. Also, the whole system of Dr. Cam scope 3D, including laparoscope, light source, power sources, image processor and monitor are loaded into compact size case which is durable and easy to maneuver.
