There are many food events that have been going on in the summer, but Project by Project LA will host its 12th annual tasting fundraiser benefit, Plate by Plate, at the beautiful Petersen Automotive Museum on August 2, 2014 at 7:30pm. This event will feature 50 of Southern California’s finest restaurants and beverage purveyors. Guest appearances will be made by some of LA’s top chefs as well as mixologists from premium bars and lounges. Some of the restaurants to look forward to are Faith & Flower, Bestia and Republique just to name a few.
“Plate by Plate is an event that we enjoy being part of. The people attending the event are passionate about food and it brings such a special energy. They know the chefs, the new restaurants and are very adventurous when it comes to food, which allows us to be more creative and offer bites that will get them excited. We have been part of it 5 years in a row and counting.” – Chef Ricardo Zarate & Stephane Bombet of Paiche, Picca & Mo-Chica.
Project by Project is composed of volunteers, who are social entrepreneurs, marketing managers, lawyers, and a myriad of other professional backgrounds. They are committed to topping last year’s sold out event by diversifying their audience, strengthening the community and reaching out to unite food lovers and philanthropy supporters alike.
Every year, Project by Project selects a non-profit partner based on a cause that addresses current needs in the Asian American community. This year, Project by Project LA is partnering up with Pacific Asian Counseling Services (PACS) to raise awareness for Mental Health. PACS was established in 1981 by the Assistance League of Southern California based on the documented lack of social services for Asian Pacific Americans in Los Angeles. Their mission is to enrich the lives of children and families through counseling and caring. They provide culturally sensitive and language specific mental health services with expertise in the immigrant Asian Pacific Islander populations.
