[Asian Games] Park Min-soo gets bronze in men’s pommel horse

South Korean gymnast Park Min-soo won the bronze medal in the men’s pommel horse at the Asian Games on Wednesday.

ย ย  Park scored 14.700 points on the apparatus, behind his Japanese rival Masayoshi Yamamoto, who won gold with 15.033 points, and Uzbeki Abdulla Azimov, who took silver with 14.866 points.

ย ย  The bronze makes up for Park’s disappointing all-around on Tuesday, where he’d finished 10th due to his poorer-than-expected performance on the high bar. The 19-year-old had been largely considered the gold medal hopeful in the discipline for the host nation.

ย ย  Meanwhile, South Korean vault extraordinaire Yang Hak-seon failed to medal in the men’s floor exercise with a back-of-the-pack score of 14.100 points. His North Korean rival Ri Se-gwang wasn’t

that much better with 14.533 points. The Chinese Zou Kai and Huang Yuguo dominated the race, executing the most difficult moves with precision. (Yonhap)
