The agreement between the ruling Saenuri Party and main opposition New Politics Alliance for Democracy came as the opposition party threatened to boycott the vote scheduled for Thursday.
Since his nomination last month, Lee Wan-koo, the preceding floor leader of the ruling party, has come under fire over allegations he tried to control press freedom, speculated in real estate and lied in order to avoid active military service, among other ethical lapses. (Yonhap)
