President Park Geun-hye will attend a series of multilateral summits later this month, which Cheong Wa Dae said will help expand South Korea’s diplomatic scope.
Park plans to embark on a 10-day trip on Nov. 14 to Turkey, the Philippines and Malaysia, according to Kim Kyou-hyun, senior presidential secretary for foreign affairs.
She will join the G-20 summit in Antalya, Turkey, on Nov. 15-16, followed by a visit to the Filipino capital of Manila for the APEC session from Nov. 17-19.
The president will then travel to Kuala Lumpur from Nov. 20-22 to join the ASEAN Plus Three summit and the East Asia Summit.
Park’s upcoming activity abroad is expected to “contribute to broadening our diplomatic scope,” Kim said. (Yonhap)
