Toilet culture is different for each country in the world. Pottery toilets have been the most used for nearly 400 years, and bidet units are being installed in addition to toilet seats. The most uncomfortable thing while having to use a public restroom is to worry about odor and germs in the restroom.
The person who developed toilets has designed an S-shaped trap at the bottom of the toilet to prevent odor or germs from rising on the toilet, and designed to always contain a certain level of clean water. However, that is not entirely enough. In order to eliminate the smell of ammonia in the toilet, most people spray air fresheners or turn on a fragrant candle, but that itself is exposed to the risk of chemicals and fire, and even if there is a ventilator in the toilet, the smell of ammonia will eventually take over. In addition, when people flush the toilet, if the water splashes on the body, they also have to worry about bacterial infection. Many people would have been worried about this problem once, but there was no proper solution before.
Therefore, “ETISH” made by Su-house Company in South Korea created a solution to these problems. “ETISH”, a name created with the mix of ‘etiquette’ and ‘fresh’, removes odors as a principle that is absorbed into a water tank and dissolves in the water before the odor spreads out of the toilet.
Su-house Co. noticed that both ammonia and hydrogen sulfide, which are the sources of odor, are well dissolved in water. In addition, according to a survey conducted by the Korea Institute of Construction and Environment, the deodorization efficiency of ammonia was measured to be 95% and the deodorization efficiency of hydrogen sulfide was measured to be 90%.
One of the features of “ETISH” is that the amount of sucking the odor can be adjusted over four steps. Additionally, the cover, which is either a soft or hard bidet, is designed to suck the odor only when the human body weight is applied. It is economical because they do not need to flush the toilet to get rid of the odor when they relieve themselves, and it is also hygienic because the water does not splash.
