Why invest in GyeongSangBuk-do?

GSBDGyeongsangbuk-do is a region where industry, culture, and nature coexist. Gyeongbuk has POSCO, the most competitive steel-making company in the world and Samsung Electronics’ mobile phone manufacturing plants, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, such as Bulguksa Temple and Seokguram, and the Nakdonggang River and Taebaek Mountains range.

Gyeongsangbuk-do’s governor, Gwan Yong Kim, held a seminar on investment attraction for 2017 Gyeongsangbuk-do province at the Seoul JW Marriott Hotel last month on June 29 to attract companies.

The transportation facilities in Gyeongsangbuk-do include the opening of Korea Train Express (KTX), which is a high-speed railway that has 7 highway routes, 2 airports, and trade ports. Traffic can be transported between Seoul within 2 hours, and the harbor will be able to travel to the ocean through the east-sea. Industrial resources are expected to be 5.2 million tons of industrial water per year and an annual capacity of 86 million Mkw is possible.

Based on the above infrastructure, the municipality is endeavoring to attract domestic and foreign companies by supporting investment in facilities, supporting facility investment, tax reduction and other benefits. Each city in Gyeongsangbuk-do is planning to jump up to be a leading industrial complex in Korea by creating national industrial complex, free economic zone, the Bio-tech and cultural tourism complex, foreign investment zone, technology center and logistics complex.

According to the director of Gyeongbuk investment promotion officer Soon Yong Hong, he stated that a variety of companies would come down to Gyeongbuk to develop the industry as well as the tourism and leisure service industry through the Gyeongbuk Investment Promotion Association.
