Hyatt Hotels Corporation has opened a sales office in Seoul that links Hyatt hotels around the world with Korean travelers planning on business and leisure trips. The regional sales office is the fifth in Asia, following China, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore.
The Seoul office will deal mostly with big enterprises and wholesale tour operators in Korea.
Andrew Wong, vice president of global sales for the Asia-Pacific region, said the Korean office had already reached its target goal of 10 percent sales growth and expects to see more deals for the coming months.
“Korea is one of our top five markets in the Asia-Pacific market. We see a huge potential in the market,” Wong said.
According to Wong, Korean inbound and outbound market has grown 25 percent from the year 2012-2013 in terms of room nights and revenues while the Asia-Pacific region saw sales growth of 10 percent for the same period.
