A large number of people are beginning to raise pet animals due to an increase in the number of single-person households and an aging population. According to the American Pet Products Association’s National Pet Owners Survey of 2017-2018, 68.6% of US households, or 84.6 million households, own pets. As a result, the size of the US companion animal business grew by 3.7% last year, from $44 million to $46 million. The pet animal market continued to show steady growth during the economic downturn, making pets a part of the family rather than just companion animals.

The pet market, which had traditionally been dominated by feed and treats, has now developed into multiple brands, including medical, beauty, café, miscellaneous pet supplies and funeral services. Trends in the pet market have become a premium, and now petowners do not settle for cheaper pet food or goods.

The field of pet cosmetics, which once marketed only bathing and grooming, now includes skin care for companion animals such as pet dyes, aroma massage, and mud packs. However, people may feel uncomfortable about grooming their pets in such a manner due to multiple reasons, such as health disparities and the possibility of making their pets feel discomfort.

This is why Goth Design, a South Korean company that specializes in industrial design, has developed a product called PETAUM. PETAUM is a pet animal dryer and brush, used for grooming purposes. After bathing their pets, people typically partake in a routine of drying and brushing the animals, which can be quite time consuming depending on the overall length and texture of hair. Goth Design has decided to address this issue, and released a product that combines the functions of a dryer and a brush. People may initially be concerned about using such a product on their pet in fear that the dryer can hurt their pet, such as causing burns. PETAUM ensures that the dryer temperature ranges from 40 to 60 degrees to guarantee a painless experience. On top of the overall functionality of the product, PETAUM has an ergonomic design to optimize use, offering lightweight technology and a stable grip.

“Design should allow users to make the best use of the product itself, and a product that allows good use is always appreciated,” said CEO Jun Jung Seo of Goth Design. Additionally, Goth Design said that it plans to continue to produce its own products as they correspond with the needs of consumers.

Rather than focusing on other pet goods, why not use PETAUM to preserve the health and beauty of your companion animals, guaranteeing your happy lives spent together?
