Japanese companies in various fields and Korean SMEs engaged in business activities.

Due to COVID-19, most of the world’s business activities are being restricted. Since exhibitions and buyer counseling sessions are also held in the form of online video counseling in various countries around the world, the reality is that transactions are limited.

However, LA Times Asia Journal has been introducing Korean SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) to many Japanese companies. These companies have received considerable attention and active engagement.

Some of aforementioned companies include Infomining (biosignal management system via Smart Band), GB Soft (biosignal management system through cameras), AI-Mon (biosignal management system for babies through ankle bands), and STX Bio (a microorganism that promotes plant growth).

In the case of Infoming, Elematec, a Trading Company under TOYOTA Group was introduced to NTT-Data (a system software development company under the NTT Group). NTT-Data plans to collaborate with various Japanese pharmaceutical companies on a project that can analyze health information from urine using Infomining’s Smart Band to monitor Vital Signal (EKG, blood pressure, blood sugar, oxygen saturation, pulse, body temperature) along with urine health information.

GB Soft was introduced to NTT-Data by Elematec, which, along with Infomining, will also  participate in the clinical demonstration. Vital Signal (blood pressure, oxygen saturation, pulse, body temperature) will be monitored through the camera with urine health information. It has also been introduced in ALSOK, which seeks to develop health care services for people identified through security cameras in ALSOK’s security system. It has also been introduced to AIPhone (Interphone Development Company), which seeks to develop a service that monitors the health of people entering and leaving through door phones cameras installed in each home and business. Finally, it has been introduced to DataScope, which is trying to incorporate GB Soft’s technology into Shenzhen DataScope, which is established in collaboration with DataScope and FoxConn.

In the case of AI-Mon, Elematec has recently been interested and is under internal review of which of their 6,600 global clients for sales. Nexty, another trading company under TOYOTA Group, is also reviewing how to operate because they have clear needs from their customers.

In the case of STX Bio, KAGOME is seeking to adopt the microorganisms from STX Bio to improve their agricultural productivity.
