The Light and Shadow of Presidential Election: “Kingmaker”

King Maker (Director Byun Sung-hyun) is a drama that begins when politician Kim Un-beom (Actor: Seol Kyung-gu), who challenges to change the world, and election strategist Seo Chang-dae (Actor: Lee Sun-kyun), whose existence and name are hidden, jump into the fierce election board.

On top of that, the fact that it was a fiction created based on cinematic fun and imagination under the motif of the late former President Kim Dae Jung and his election staff Um Chang-rok, and the dramatic election process in the 1960s and 1970s aroused the audience’s interest. This served as a factor that appealed to audiences who thought politics and elections were difficult, helping “King Maker” succeed.

In addition, the golden casting, completed by two actors Seol Kyung-gu and Lee Sun-kyun’s chemistry, as well as cast members Yoo Jae-myung, Cho Woo-jin, Park In-hwan, Lee Hae-young, Kim Sung-oh, Jeon Bae-soo, Seo Eun-soo, Kim Jong-soo, Yoon Kyung-ho, and specially cast Bae Jong-ok, drew criticism as a one-pick movie during the Lunar New Year holiday. For this reason, King Maker is drawing attention as a well-made film that will not only lead the box office success of the theater district during the Lunar New Year holiday but will continue its long-term success through word-of-mouth reviews by real visitors.

In the midst of this, a video of “King Menius” with a concept tailored to the background of the 1960s and 1970s in “King Maker” has been released, drawing attention. King Menius appears as secretary Yoon in the play, and starts with a narration by actor and voice actor Yoon Se-woong, who was in charge of the voice of a news anchor in the actual movie, and the movie King Maker is the talk of the town across the country.

In Korea, there were former President Kim Dae Jung and former President Kim Young-sam who appeared shouting democracy in the long-term power structure of the military regime. Among them, the process of becoming a member of the National Assembly of former President Kim Dae Jung seems to have been adapted from real figures. Currently, South Korea is competing with a slight difference in approval ratings with a two-way race between Lee Jae-myung and Yoon Seok-yeol.

It shows elections with emerging forces calling for democracy in the military regime in the old elections, expresses good and evil amid election strategies and irregularities, and you will see contradictions in the strategies taken for election, that is, election.
